An indoor volleyball court is a rectangle 18 meters long by 9 meters wide (59 × 29.5 ft), split into two 9 × 9 m halves by the net. The measurement that changes most between divisions isn't the floor — it's the net height: 2.43 m for men and 2.24 m for women. These are the official FIVB dimensions (also used by USA Volleyball and the NCAA), the attack line explained, and how the beach court differs.

Court zones explained
The attack line (the "10-foot line"). Marked 3 m (9.84 ft) from the centerline on each side. Back-row players may not attack the ball above net height while on or in front of it.
The service zone. A 9 m wide strip behind each end line. The server may stand anywhere along it, as deep as the free zone allows.
The free zone. The clear space around the court — a minimum of 3 m on all sides, and considerably wider in FIVB world and official competitions.
The centerline and the net. The centerline under the net divides the court into two 9 × 9 m halves; the net spans the full 9 m width plus antennas.
Surface and materials
Indoor courts use wood or synthetic sports flooring — the FIVB requires a light-colored, smooth, uniform surface. Beach volleyball is played on leveled sand at least 40 cm deep. School and recreational gyms often share the same floor with basketball via multi-sport lines.
